For many, the idea of sitting in a reclining chair can feel like a foreign concept.
And for those who find it difficult to sit upright for long periods of time, the thought of reclining in a chair can be uncomfortable, as evidenced by this recent study that found that people with high back pain were more likely to suffer back pain while sitting in their reclining chairs than people who were sitting upright.
In this new study, researchers found that reclining is actually a good thing for your health, with some research suggesting that it can improve your overall health.
“Our findings indicate that people who have a back problem may be more likely than others to benefit from being reclined,” study researcher Dr. David J. Rocha, an assistant professor at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, told HealthDay.
“It may help them feel better and get better sleep, and also improve their health.
This is consistent with research on the effect of posture on sleep and quality of life.”
To find out more about this study, HealthDay asked Rochas to explore the research and to share the results with us.
Dr. Rotha started with data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which is a longitudinal study that measures Americans’ health and lifestyle, which includes sitting, sitting for long stretches of time and sleep quality.
“This is a relatively new and large study,” Rochs told HealthLine.
“There is a lot of work to be done, and we want to be clear that this is a really small sample size.
But we have a lot to learn from it.”
The researchers then looked at how the different types of chairs that are popular in the United States affect back pain.
They found that the reclining style of chairs can increase back pain in people with lower back pain, with higher back pain being associated with the recliner style.
This was particularly true in people who sit for a long time.
“When people sit in reclining styles, they can experience pain and discomfort at the back of their spine and lower back, which can also affect sleep quality,” Rothas explained.
“This research shows that recliners may have a positive effect on sleep quality.”
In addition to this study finding that reclined chairs are beneficial, researchers also found that they could improve people’s sleep quality and health.
Rohas told Healthline that people in the reclined chair group who had sleep problems were more than twice as likely to have back pain and have trouble sleeping.
The researchers also discovered that recliner chairs are better at relieving neck pain, while other research has found that standing is the best form of support for people with neck pain.
The researchers concluded that the findings from their study are “really promising,” but they are still in the early stages of research.
For now, they’re working with health professionals to find the best reclining products.
“The best way to avoid back pain is to get regular exercise,” Rohs said.
“We’re still figuring out what is the optimal amount of exercise that works best for your body.”
Dr. Sreenivasan said that people should start with a good posture and not restrict themselves to reclining seats for longer periods of the day.
“If you’re sitting for an extended period of time at home, then you might be tempted to just get comfortable in your chair and go to sleep,” she said.
If you are in a long-term relationship, it’s important to work with your partner to figure out how much of a benefit that chair can provide for your relationship.
