The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says outdoor dining chairs and picnic tables are not as comfortable as indoor chairs and tables.
The CFIA says it was recently contacted by the Ontario Society of Home Builders and Manufacturers (OSHM) about complaints of outdoor dining chair or picnic table damage, and the agency said it is looking into the matter.
The OSHM is asking people to contact the agency directly to request a replacement chair or table.
The OSHM also says it is contacting customers who have received a defective outdoor dining table.
“The OSDH is currently working with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to resolve this issue,” the agency says in a statement.
“If you have any questions about your chair or patio table, please contact our Customer Service Centre at 1-877-882-5055.”CBC News asked the agency for comment on the allegations.
